Abstract
AbstractThe propagation of optical pulses in optical fibers through an optical soliton has been studied widely. The results of the studies have contributed not only to the development of ultrafast optical communication but also to the creation of a soliton laser designed for generating ultrashort optical pulses. The soliton concept is applied successfully to the generation mechanism of ultrashort optical pulses in a laser cavity. This paper will describe the generation of femtosecond optical pulses in soliton lasers and in solitons in the laser cavity.
