Abstract

Solid-state extrusion (SSE) is a technique for achieving an optimal oriented status of polymers, and is dependent on the deforming application with a temperature less than in melting condition. In the case of applications such as structure modification and shape forming of different polymeric materials, SSE operation is mainly involved particularly when it comes to films and fibers industry. Throughout this article, the improvement of great mechanical performance operating SSE is demonstrated by the two-stage drawing of UHMW-PE reactor powders. The industrial application of this process is to manufacture higher performance fibers. Moreover, films will be concisely clarified. The laboratory experiments reveal that the ultradrawn products have high tensile properties.
