Abstract

The temperature and concentration dependence of critical resolved shear stress of Cd-Zn single crystals has been investigated in the temperature region of 4, 2 - 300 K. At temperatures below 50 K an anomalous peak in the temperature dependence of the critical resolved shear stress is observed. The concentration dependence of the critical resolved shear stress is interpreted by the elastic interaction between the solute atoms and the dislocations due to a size and modulus effect. It is discussed a model for low temperature thermally activated process.
