Abstract
Abstract Samples of (Cd 1− x Mn x )(Te 1−y Se y ) alloys were made up from the elements over most of the composition range and equilibrium conditions established using the melt and anneal technique. The presence of one, two or three phases was established in the various samples and lattice parameter values were determined from Debye-Scherrer X-ray powder photographs. From these parameter values the boundaries of the single-phase fields were determined for the zinc blende CdTe and wurtzite CdSe phases, and estimates were made of the positions of two- and three-phase fields in the diagram. The resulting isothermal sections at 600 and 960°C are presented.
