Abstract
Studies regarding flame radiation conducted using pure fuel are abundant, whereas studies regarding the jet flame of mixed gases are few. Moreover, the geometric models within solid flame models are rather simplistic, thus resulting in significant prediction errors. In this study, a mixed gas comprising propane and hydrogen is used to investigate the variation in the view factor and flame emissivity of a diffusion jet flame under different hydrogen concentrations. Based on the solid flame model, three three-dimensional geometric models are considered, including cylinder, cylinder-to-cone, and cone-to-cone models, to establish new view factor and flame emissivity models. By integrating the thermal radiation of micro-body, the accuracy of prediction model for propane -hydrogen jet fire has been improved. The prediction results proposed by cone-to-cone model agrees well with the experimental results.
