Abstract

The possibility of using solar photometers for indirect measurement of the optical depth of surface aerosol is studied. The proposed method and the corresponding technique for indirect measurement of the optical depth of surface aerosol using solar photometers are theoretically substantiated. Two methods of indirect measurements are proposed. The first method makes it possible to determine the increase in the optical depth of surface aerosol with a single-channel solar photometer by performing two-stage indirect measurements. The second method allows to determine the increment of ground aerosol using a two-channel solar photometer with identical channels. An invariant that makes it possible to verify the accuracy of the obtained measurement data at proposed methods sharing is obtained.
