Abstract

Solar active Bi2S3-ZnVO4 nanocomposite was successfully synthesized by facile hydrothermal method. The photocatalytic activities of Bi2S3-ZnVO4 were investigated for the degradation of Tartrazine (TAZ) dye in aqueous solution using solar light. The prepared catalyst had been characterized by XRD, SEM, EDS, ECM, HR-TEM, SAED, DRS, PL, XPS, BET and CV measurement methods. The effects of primary analysis such as the catalyst loading, initial dye concentration and solution pH on photomineralization of dye have been analyzed. The TAZ dye mineralization has been verified by COD measurements. The catalyst is established to be reusable. The antibacterial property was analyzed via agar disc diffusion method.
