Abstract

Abstract The social revolution promotes the use of mass collaboration principles and tools in every organization. Factories are not excluded from this Social Media advance, with books, authors and consultants tooting the benefits of business intelligence, cloud computing and even web 2.0 interfaces when used in manufacturing departments. However, any SWOT analysis has Threats and Weaknesses, and this study aims at discovering what could go bad when Social Revolution is enabled in a factory, production- wise. We do not try to prove the two could not be used together, but we promote a cautious approach to the subject.
