Abstract

The aim of the research is to build a social intelligence scale for fifth-grade primary school pupils in science course. The research followed the descriptive-analytical approach and the scale was built according to established construction steps. Various types of validity, including face validity, construct validity, and discriminant validity, were confirmed, and the scale's reliability was verified. It was applied to a sample of 500 fifth-grade primary school pupils, and appropriate statistical methods were used. The results indicated a moderate level of social intelligence among the study sample, with differences between pupils in social intelligence attributed to gender, favoring females. Several recommendations were made to improve the social intelligence level among the research sample.
