Abstract

The authors of this paper had the aim, using the example of the Republic of Serbia, which has been undergoing complex changes in quest for the new form of development, to emphasize the connection between transitional processes and changes in institutionalized education. The emphasis is on the challenges and problems that new socioeconomic developmental context carries and their effect on the field of education. National strategy of education is to an important extent assimilated by the requirements contained in international documents that regulate educational field, one of them being The Bologna Declaration. Societies in transition, tending to support developmental model of societies included in integrations to which they strive, accept offered solutions in the field of education without any critics, often giving up on positive achievements of 'local' education.
