Abstract

The study aimed to identify the most important motivations of students in the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at Anbar University (social and professional). And the professional from a scale prepared by Mohamed Ibrahim Al-Dhahabi, Mansoura University, 2010. The results were that the most important social motives are the assertion that the personality is able to modify the attitudes and behaviors of students, followed by the motive of achieving a better social position, while the most important professional motive is increasing the chances of obtaining external work, followed by the multiplicity and diversity of job opportunities for graduates of physical education and sports sciences. The researcher recommended the necessity of investing students' motives and directing them in the light of those motives in academic and vocational preparation, as well as adopting these measurements in identifying students' attitudes towards studying in physical education and sports sciences.
