Social and Communication Activities of the Elite: the Evolution of Scientific Views Considering the Triad “Power (Technai)” – “Calculations (Logismos)” –“Measure (Metron)”

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to study the world scientific discourse on the resource potential of the evolution of the world elites in the context of their social and communication activities.Research methodology. The study investigates this issue by examining the issues of the evolution of scientific views of the representatives of the world political and philosophical thought on the social and communication activities of elites using such methods of scientific research as synthesis, analysis, and generalization.Results. Social and communication activities of the elite are one of the issues in world science that the scientists constantly considered from the times of the ancient world to the present moment. Its consideration laid the foundation for the triad of “power” — “calculation” — “measure” in ancient Greece and ancient China. According to the analysis of scientific research, the evolution of representations on social and communication activities of the elite was constantly influenced by the factors of the international processes.Novelty consists in finding out that scientific studies have distinctly recorded a change in the characteristics of the social and communication activities of the elite taking into account from purely consumer dominance to democratization processes.The practical significance consists in drawing attention to the deeper processes in the scientific world, since the theme of social and communication activities of the elite was considered at different levels of scientific research. Particular attention should be paid to the scientific segment of Ukrainian scholars of various directions, including nationalist ones.
