En el libro Tres ensayos de historia weenhayek/wichí escrito por Isabelle Combès y Rodrigo Montani se estudian desde la linguística, la etnohistoria y la etnografía algunos problemas de larga data en la antropología e historia del Gran Chaco. Esta reseña intenta dar cuenta de las distintas hipótesis de trabajo presentes en en libro, subrayando su originalidad e inserción en las discusiones académicas existentes.
