Abstract

In the present article, autors examine president Barack Obama's inaugural speech, with the purpose of throwing light on his ideas regarding national security, considering that the speech is a strategic communications tool and duly bearing in mind the problem of communications and its differences vis a vis information. The chosen approach is content analysis word by word, in two steps: quantitative and qualitative. Results are offered considering the present context of national security in the United States.
