Abstract
On January 10, 1627, masters stonemasons Francisco Garcia y Gaspar Mexia contracted with father Francisco Chacon the erection of three upper galleries for the missing cloister of Nuestra Senora de la Merced in Azuaga. Although the agreement does not allude any author, it is established the hypothesis that it could be executed by Juan de Oviedo y de la Bandera.
