Abstract

Under the context of the historical period known as “franquismo español,” this essay analizes the desubjectification of the Spanish subject. Through an examination of the novel Tiempo de silencio by Luis Martín-Santos, this essay demonstrates that the Franquista State, reduced the subject and its body in maleable and collective flesh to allow the emergence of the new Spanish subject.
