Abstract
The January-February issue of Geophysics contains several papers related to imaging in petroleum and mining exploration. Some highlights include: “A theoretical comparison of equivalent-offset migration and dip-moveout prestack imaging” in which Bednar claims that two newly developed prestack time-migration methods are asymptotically equivalent. He also shows that dip-moveout prestack imaging is completely independent of velocity, Fourier transform based, and computationally efficient.
