Smilow expands the universe of cancer care with telepharmacy

Abstract

T Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale–New Haven Hospital has gone where no cancer care may have gone before. The cancer hospital acquired several private physician practices across Connecticut and set them up as outposts for cancer care, where patients receive the same level of excellent care but at a clinic close to home. The key to the endeavor’s success was the pharmacy leadership’s vision to implement a telepharmacy model to meet all regulatory requirements and provide safe, high-quality, and ef cient patient care.
