Abstract
The failure of the so-called new education, which has been in effect since the closing years of the Ch'ing dynasty, has given rise to much discussion in Chinese intellectual circles. One problem that is constantly raised is that of so-called circular education - the teacher uses certain materials to teach students, who then use these same materials to become teachers. What is the purpose of this relay race which has no concern for the masses and no objective?
