Abstract
With ever increasing urbanization across the world, serious mobility concerns in urban areas are being noticed by the planners and policy makers. Unplanned urban areas that fail to cater the mobility needs of the city inhabitants result in degraded quality of life and cast detrimental effect on the environment. Amid this persisting situation, smart mobility initiatives are being adopted by the developed nations to overcome mobility issues. This paper intends to understand the concept of smart mobility in detail and further broadly explores the available literature on the implementation of smart mobility initiatives in India and abroad. The study provides some insights on how smart mobility may act as game changer and lead us towards a greener future.
