Abstract
Healthcare has slowly realized the benefits of the Internet of Things (IoT) technologies, and we are witnessing its increased applications in smart healthcare. The major advantages of IoT-enabled healthcare are proactive care, customized care, improved care, error reduction, reduced cost, and on-time and round-the-clock services. Intelligence-embedded IoT smart devices work on human physical parameters and help healthcare professionals in decision-making. With the rapid change in the landscape of healthcare, it is imperative to review the recent applications of IoT in healthcare. A comprehensive and bibliometric review of opportunities for IoT in healthcare with a framework is still limited in the available literature. This chapter uses a bibliometric review from the web of science database and specifically focuses on the statistical analysis of published scientific documents. This chapter aims to explore the current state of the art and future research potential of IoT in healthcare. It also highlights how healthcare can benefit from IoT to bring affordability, availability, and accessibility.
