Smart Agro Farm Solar Powered Soil and Weather Monitoring System for Farmers

Abstract

Smart agro farm is a low cost solar powered soil and weather monitoring system which analyses the different soil properties and weather conditions and thereby developing a hi-tech smart farm set up for farmers. This system consists of three main modules entitled as IoT module, data mining module and mobile application module. Firstly, the prime IoT [1][2] module comprises of circuit interconnections and characterization of various soil sensors for determining soil moisture, which automatically utilizes solar power for their functioning. Soil moisture and is detected by using Soil moisture sensor. The temperature and humidity is detected by DHT 11. The second data mining module deals with extracting the information from all the above data values. The third is mobile application module which provides proper awareness and guidance regarding the cultivation of preferable crops to farmers via android mobile application. Hence, our system is perfect combination of IoT, Data mining and Android Mobile Application. Also it welcomes low-income household farmers to step up into smart climate–farming practice. Optimizing irrigation facilities, system accuracy and affordability and maximizing conservation can be pointed out as the benefits our system.
