Abstract

This paper investigates the modeling and small signal stability analysis of a grid connected doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG) power system under unbalanced voltage condition. The detailed DFIG system model including turbine, drive train, generator and RSC with proportional-integral-resonant (PIR) current regulator is developed in positive and negative sequence, based on which the loci of the eigenvalues are given, and the impact of PIR parameters and grid voltage unbalance degree on the small signal stability is analyzed. Finally, Simulation models are developed to validate the developed model and to verify the theoretical analysis.
