Abstract

The laser response to δ-functional cavity losses perturbations near a period-doubling instability is investigated theoretically and experimentally. The effects of small pulsed signal amplification and classical squeezing have been demonstrated in a driven CO 2 laser. These effects can be used for an enhancement of the sensitivity of intracavity measurements.
