Abstract

In this paper, the geometrical parameters of a vertically coupled resonator are investigated and lead to varied models including the resonator of conical rod portion to reduce the group velocity of light. The results found that the separation gap between resonators, l <inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">g</inf> and the rod radius, a are significant in reducing the group velocity of light through the structures designed. The case of lossless resonators and consideration of absorption phenomena are also described.
