Abstract
Some aspects of the motion of charge density waves under a static electric field observed in a number of quasi one-dimensional conductors with an incommensurate superlattice are reviewed. Experiments aimed at the measurement of the CDW phase velocity are described. Recent experiments in the blue bronze Rb0.3MoO3 have shown that the local field oscillation frequency measured by NMR is equal to the periodic voltage oscillation frequency and these both agree with that expected from the measured sliding CDW current.
