Abstract

Antibiotic resistance is a multidimensional and global problem having an effect far beyond hospital units. There is a substantial incearse in the number of scientific publications and reports commisioned by international organisations aiming to asses the consequences and costs of antibiotic resistance spread. To establish appropriate guidelines several approaches modelling further impact of antibiotic resistance on human health and economic costs were performed. The aim of this paper is to summarise knowledge about current and possible consequences of antibiotic resistance spread among bacteria.
