Abstract

Billy Hefferon served eight years in the army before changing career to nursing in 1992. Since qualifying, he has held a range of clinical and research oncology posts and became skin cancer nurse specialist at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust in 2009. Recently, he was highly commended in the NHS Innovation Challenge Prize for developing a skin cancer training module for hair and beauty therapy students. He spoke to Ruth Williams
