Abstract

Abstract The dielectric properties of BaTiO2 vacuum deposits is found to be a function of the thickness (d) and ordered region diameter (l) within the range d,l < 1000 Å. Ferroelectricity disappears when d,l are less than 100–200 Å. The explanation of “size” phenomena is given on the basis of a local electric field model.
