Abstract

We present a way to calculate density and size of self-assembled quantum dots for varying deposition conditions (temperature and deposition rate). The density is calculated with a rate equation approach. The average island size and the modality of the size distribution (unimodal with large or small islands, or bimodal) is calculated via subsequent materials balancing over the density resulting from the rate equations.
