Abstract

AbstractNi clusters and particles grown on SrTiO3 substrates were investigated with UHV‐TEM /STM combined system. The dependence of Ni/SrTiO3 interface structure and Ni deposits morphologies on deposit size and substrate surface orientation was found. While small clusters tend to grow semi‐commensurately with substrates, bigger particles grow incommensurately. Clusters and particles on SrTiO3 (110) have more random growth configuration and morphologies than those on SrTiO3 (001). (© 2013 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
