Abstract
Objective: to study 6-minute walk distance (6MWD) and pulmonary diffusing capacity (DL CO ) in patients with COPD Material and Methods: 129 patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) were observed. The investigated group was made by the men having the long experience of smoking. Smoker index was 240. The average age was 61.8 ± 6.7 years. Research of function of external breath was studied with multimodular installation of type «Master-Lab/Jaeger». Pulmonary diffusing capacity (DL CO ) was studied. 6-minute walk distance (6-MWD) was observed. The assessment of risk of osteoporotic fractures were calculated by means of the computer program FRAX Results: indicators of 6MWD in patients with COPD 2 stage were 386.56±100.5, indicators of 6MWD in patients with COPD 3 stage were 350.43±113.8, indicators of 6MWD in patients with COPD 4 stage were 233.75±117.3. Indicators of DL CO in patients with 2 stage COPD was 70.62 ± 20.2 , DL CO in patients with 3 stage COPD was 53.98 ± 17.64. The correlation coefficient between 6MWD and pulmonary diffusing capacity (DL CO) was 0.39 (p Conclusions: the increase of 6MWD was significantly correlated with the increase of pulmonary diffusing capacity (DL CO ) in patients with COPD.Reduce 6MWD correlates with an increased risk of fractures.
