Abstract
Energy demand is increasing due to the ongoing and rapid industrialization in Turkey. Today, people use solar power to heat constructions and water and to produce electricity. Because of their high costs, feasibility studies are needed to select most suitable site for solar power plants. In this sense, Multiple criteria decision making (MCDM) is an applicable branch to evaluate many location alternatives and evaluation criteria for solar power systems. The primary goal of this research is to evaluate and select the most suitable site for solar power plants using Complex proportional assessment (COPRAS) and analytical hierarchy process (AHP) method under interval valued intuitionistic fuzzy (IVIF) environment. The IVIF version of the AHP is employed to determine the fuzzy weights of criteria. Then, IVIF-COPRAS method is performed to obtain the most satisfying site for solar power plants. Conclusions and future research opportunities are provided at the end of the study.
