AbstractBy the recent deaths of Sir James and Lady Roberts the Bronte Society has lost its most outstanding members. For it is due to their interest and generosity that Haworth Parsonage came into the keeping of the Bronte Society.The story of this great gift of a literary shrine to the nation is as follows:— Late in the year 1926 it came to the ears of several members of the Bronte Council that the Trustees of Haworth Parsonage had decided to sell the building at a certain price, and with the proceeds to build a new Vicarage.
