Abstract

Far-infrared transmission spectra in As-doped Ge are studied at liquid He temperatures. Transmission minima are found in the spectra in the vicinity of 4.0 meV and the far-infrared absorptions are attributed to the forbidden transition between the valley-orbit splitting levels of the ground states of arsenic donors. The energy shift of the transmission minimum to the lower energy side with increasing impurity concentration is observed.
