Abstract

In this paper, a new single-source surface integral equation (SIE) is proposed to analyze the TE scattering by penetrable objects. In the SIE, a surface equivalent electric current density is derived through applying the equivalence theorem on the boundaries of penetrable objects and enforcing that tangential electric fields in the original and equivalent objects equal to each other. Compared with other dual source counterparts, which use both the electric and magnetic current densities, the proposed formulation only requires a single electric current source. At last, a numerical example validates its accuracy of the proposed formulation.
