Abstract

AbstractAtomic carbon, a zerovalent atom with four non‐bonded electrons, has potential utility in organic synthesis as platforms for the formation of four new covalent bonds at the carbon center. Single‐carbon atom doping (SCAD) is the process of inserting an atomic carbon into a reactant molecule with no loss of atoms in the reactant. In this Concept, we overview SCAD reactions, which can be classified by physical or chemical methods.
