Abstract

Electrosynthesis in a single step was used to obtain high-quality Co-ferrite thin films from an alkaline non-aqueous bath at room temperature. Several preparative parameters were optimized to obtain smooth and adherent Co-ferrite thin films. From XRD studies, cubic crystal formation was confirmed. IR studies confirmed spinel structure formation in Co-ferrite thin films. From SEM and AFM studies, smooth, uniform, and compact film formation was observed. From magnetic measurements, the value of saturation magnetization was (304 emu/cm3) obtained it is in good agreement with that of bulk value.
