Abstract

Properties of single molecules at low temperatures can be studied by fluorescence excitation spectroscopy. Stark effect, pressure-induced spectral shifts, polarization effects, and time-resolved measurements have been performed on single pentacene molecules embedded in a p-terphenyl crystal at low temperature.
