Abstract

Single crystals of the binary compound LiAl were grown by the Tammann technique. The dimensions of the single crystal grown in a tantalum crucible were about 10 mm in diameter and 10–20 mm in length. The easiest cleaving plane was the (111) face. Identification was carried out by X-ray diffraction.
