Abstract

A temporal method is proposed for estimating the slope of a landing site for a helicopter at night. The width of a pulse reflected from a surface under nonstationary irradiation is used as an informational parameter for estimating the surface slope angle. The receiver-amplification path bandwidth and the surface slope determination algorithm are validated with implementation of this method. A possible block scheme for implementing this method is proposed.
