Abstract

AbstractThe implementation of Reading Instructional Management systems, usually based on the Wisconsin Reading Design list of reading skills or on similar sets of skills, has necessitated the development of systems for providing student groupings at frequent intervals, based upon the skills profiles of students.SING (Scheduling for Instructional Needs Groups), a computer program developed by the author, has been in use since 1973 in Oakland County (Michigan) schools. SING uses optically scanned input to produce skill grouping lists, plus other reports. SING is designed to be used with any set of topics, skills, or objectives.
