Abstract

The test study on the removal of SO2 and NOx simultaneously from flue gas by a new-type method was performed. The results showed that the purification efficiency of SO2 and NOx in flue gas could reach at 97% and 67% respectively under the optimum operation condition of liquid-phase catalytic oxidation-biological purification system. The bacteria in biofilms may have stronger resistance to the catalytic metal ions. The relativity between concentrations of SO2 and NOx in flue gas was dramatic. Adding nutrient solution to the system could improve the removal efficiency. Six typical bacteria were achieved in the predominant bacterium crowd of liquid-phase catalytic oxidation-biological purification system. The purifying mechanism of this system was also be discussed, it laid a good foundation for exploring the new-type technology method, with a brand-new concept of chemical catalyzing - bio-treating, to removing SO2 and NOx from flue gas simultaneously.
