Abstract
TbPO 4 shows two successive antiferromagnetic phase transitions. The first one, preserving tetragonal symmetry, could be determined by magneto-electric (ME) effect. The second one, lowering the symmetry, could not immediately be detected in ME measurements since special arrangements of lower symmetry domains simulate higher symmetry.
