Abstract

Captures of Popillia japonica Newman in traps baited with phenethyl propionate + eugenol (7:3), virgin females, the chemical mixture plus the females, and no lure were compared. Exposure of the chemical mixture and the females in the same trap did not significantly change the number of males or the total number of beetles captured from those captured by females alone. However, the mixture in the same trap with females did increase the capture of females over that by either lure alone.
