Abstract

This paper reports our recent research about poly(neutral red) film modified glass carbon electrodes and their electrocatalytic oxidation reactions for both dopamine and ascorbic acid. The catalytic currents are linearly related to both dopamine and ascorbic acid concentrations in the ranges 5.0×10 −6–2.0×10 −4 and 2.5×10 −5–1.0×10 −1 mol l −1, respectively. Moreover, the dopamine and ascorbic acid concentrations can be determined simultaneously by using the difference of the catalytic currents. This method has been used for determining dopamine and ascorbic acid concentrations in real samples with satisfactory results.
