Abstract

This paper is concerned with the simultaneous actuator and sensor faults reconstruction problem using sliding mode observer for polytopic Linear Parameter Varying (LPV) systems. Sufficient conditions in terms of Linear Matrix Inequality (LMI) are derived to guarantee the stability of such observer. A simple filter is introduced to transform the sensor fault into a pseudo-actuator fault scenario and hence an augmented LPV system with actuator faults comprising the original system actuator and sensor faults is presented. The output error injection signals from the polytopic LPV sliding mode observer are used as the basis for reconstructing the fault signals. An illustrative example show a good states and fault reconstruction performance.
