Abstract

Currently, wireless sensor networks are widely used in various fields of activity. Wireless sensor networks consist of miniature computing devices of motors that have sensors. The sensors, integrated into a wireless network, form a geographically distributed self-organizing system of data collection, processing and transmission. In this paper, the characteristics of coverage, connectivity and density in wireless sensor networks are investigated. An algorithm to improve such characteristics of wireless sensor networks is proposed. It was based on the ant algorithm. The base station was located outside the considered network area. As a result of the simulation optimized characteristics of WSNs were obtained.
