Abstract

Simulation of unsteady turbulent flows by quasisteady models is analyzed. Flows in engineering applications are unsteady. For all practical purposes the analysis of turbulent flow is based today on quasisteady models. The boundary-layer thickness depends on the outer flow and the velocities parallel and perpendicular to the wall. The displacement thickness increases with grid parameter.
