Abstract
This paper describes basic properties of propagation models. For implementing new radio networks or analyzing the existing ones first goal is to find the most appropriate model and to define environment properties. Propagation models are usually divided into deterministic and empirical models. In our paper we are focused on empirical models which are commonly used for measurements of signal level and planning and analysis of radio networks. Simulations of COST 231-Hata, ITM (Irregular Terrain Model) and Ericsson were used in the area of the city of Dubrovnik which is a small city in Croatia with different types of terrain. We simulated aforementioned models using frequencies of 800 MHz and 1.8 GHz.
